Who are Compassion?

Compassion is an evangelical Christian child sponsorship organisation who give loving Christians a chance to make a difference. Rather than being overwhelmed by the staggering statistics of poverty we believe it is our Christian responsibility to help the poor as Christ did.

Why Children?

Children are clearly the greatest victims of poverty. Of the 2.2 billion children in our world today nearly half of them live in desperate conditions. But it is these children who hold the potential to break the cycle of deprivation for future generations. They are the pastors, teachers, doctors, engineers and change makers of the future.

Every three seconds a child dies of poverty related causes, but it takes just a moment to change a child’s life forever. By sponsoring a child with Compassion you can reach out directly to a child in desperate need and provide them with the skills and opportunities they need to break free from poverty and build a bright future.

By working through local churches across the world, Compassion child development centres ensure that there is long-term stability, financial integrity and the opportunity for children to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

As a Compassion sponsor your support of just 70p a day will ensure that your child has access to good nutrition, education, healthcare, social and emotional care and spiritual nurturing.
