Get Baptised
At !Audacious Church we baptise people who have made their own personal decision to make Jesus Lord of their life. Jesus said that we should “believe AND be baptised”, as He himself was. Baptism in water is an outward expression of everything that Jesus has done on the inside of us.
Our baptism services are packed full of guests, family members and friends, seeing first hand the difference Jesus has made in their friends lives.
What does it all mean?
Your old life, with all its regrets, is buried!
Baptism in water is the physical response to what has already happened in your heart, the moment you responded to salvation in Jesus. It is the physical declaration that, as Ephesians 2:8 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God…..”. Baptism itself is not salvation. In Acts 16:30-34, the Philippian jailer asked, “What must I do to be saved?” they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved….” Baptism is the celebration of this AMAZING gift!
The word itself comes from a Greek word ‘baptizo’ which means to dip, dye or submerge, just like you would do to dye a piece of cloth in order to change it’s colour. Your life is now CHANGED – it’s brand new, full of hope and power. It’s the ‘putting on’ of Christ; we belong to Him and are now co-heirs to all He has.“You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptised into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” (Galatians 3:26-27)
We baptise with full emersion to represent this change and as a way of us identifying with what Jesus did for us; His death, burial, and resurrection.
