Good morning, !Audacious Church,
My name is Julie Lee and I’m part of the Manchester Central campus.
First and foremost, I’m a child of God, and a follower of Jesus. I am part of the prayer and Alpha teams and a regional leader. Today, I would like to talk to you about one of my favourite Bible characters, Moses, and you can read all about him in the book of Exodus.
Moses was called to deliver the children of Israel from bondage from their taskmaster Pharaoh. Jesus came to save the whole world, and save us from a life of sin. Moses had an encounter with God in the desert, through a burning bush, where God told Moses to go to pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt.
Moses came up with loads of excuses, like, “Who am I? What if they don’t believe me? I’m not eloquent. I’m not good at speaking.” We all create excuses. What ones do you make when God asks you to do something? God reveals Himself to Moses and says, “I am who I am.”
I have been like Moses – made lots of wrong choices and excuses in my life, and Jesus has delivered me from the power of sin. Like Moses, I have been used by God to pray for people to be God’s witnesses, and God has miraculously healed me time and time again. I have had so many miracles in my life.
God tells Moses to say to the children of Israel, “I am sent me.”
In John 10:30, Jesus says, “I and the Father are one.” Today, we can choose to be obedient or disobedient to the call of God in our lives. The great “I AM” spoke to Moses in an intimate way, so close that he had to put a veil over his face and when he spoke to the children of Israel to give them instructions God had given him.
Through Jesus, that veil has been removed and we can speak to God through Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. Moses received the Ten Commandments from God and gave them to the children of Israel. Jesus gave us a new commandment to love one another as Jesus has loved us.
This the world will know that you are my disciples if you have a love for one another. Our Father wants to have an intimate relationship and wants us to have an intimate relationship with Him. He wants to be part of our everyday lives. He is interested in all we think, say, and do. Would you allow Jesus to come into your lives in a new and fresh way?
Ask Him to be Lord of your life again. In John 17:3, the Bible says, eternal life is that they may know You as the only true God and Jesus Christ whom You sent.
My heart for you all is that you will create a closer relationship with the Father through Jesus the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit.
