My name is Josemar De Santos and I attend !Audacious Church Central. I’m on the Production team here.
We are currently working through a devotional series on Favourite Bible Characters, and it’s been so amazing so far, looking at some of the most well-known ones, as well as some lesser known stars in God’s Word. Make sure you catch up on all the other devotions on YouTube.
For me, my favourite Bible character definitely has to be Simeon because his life teaches me several lessons in terms of how to have faith and trust in God’s timing. When I first gave my life to Christ I used to wonder why God let’s us as believers struggle and why can’t He just fix everything straight away. This is because I used to always try to think about if I’m living the right way for God and I was trying to remain faithful to God even when I was going through some very difficult times in my life. Looking at how Simeon’s story unfolds, I learned that he lived many years just believing and trusting God. It helps me to understand the fact that God has promises that I can trust in at all times. I know I can truly believe that He’s working everything for good, even when I feel like God’s taking longer than I like! We always need to remember that God’s timing isn’t our timing.
Hebrews 11:1 (NLT): ‘Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.’
I challenge you all to remain in prayer, and definitely keep praying over everything.
